Sim4Web
Simulators for the Web (Sim4Web) is the platform that hosts our online simulations in a virtual laboratory held in “the cloud”
Experiment 3: UV-Vis Absorption Spectrometer Simulator & a Library of Compounds
Background
A library of compounds in solution can be prepared in a virtual flask and examined using the absorption spectrometer simulator. Everything from simple aromatics, food dyes & biological stains through to transition metal complexes. Supervisors can make up complex mixtures (up to 4 different components) and allocate to individual students. Teachers & supervisors also have the freedom to incorporate the simulator & library of compounds into their own existing laboratory experiments if desired.

Experiment 3, Library of Compounds
Stock solutions and dilutions can be prepared using the virtual flask module for a variety of samples in solution.

UV-Vis spectra can be recorded using the spectrometer simulator for each of the virtual samples.
